Angel Lebailly: I gained so much confidence in my voice

  • Singing level: no previous schooling in singing, electronic musician
  • Period with Linor: 12 months

‘I gained so much confidence in my voice, and in myself in general. I feel relaxed at presentations, when all eyes are on me.’

“Before I started my classes with Linor, I wondered if I would be good enough to take singing lessons. Would my voice stand up to the test of being an instrument?

But from the first lesson, Linor made me realize that I could make it happen. She said: ‘You can learn to sing. It will take some time, but I will make you find your voice.’

A great mental exercise that helped me was to imagine singing in front of an audience. This unleashed an energy that I didn’t know I possessed…

After a few months of classes, I started to feel better in personal life. I have found my voice in more than one way, I guess. I used to feel shy, but now I feel relaxed when giving presentations, or any occasion when all eyes are on me. I notice that this confidence helps me influence people. They follow my guidance more readily than they used to do. It’s amazing that singing lessons accomplish this!

When I sing with Linor, we are using our bodies as instruments. We do a variety of body exercises. This has made me less tense. I can focus on the sound my body produces now.

The classes with Linor give me so much energy. She is such an encouraging teacher, and it’s so much fun. Every time I leave I feel like I’m floating on air, or after a great, refreshing swim. It may sound strange, but it’s actually how I feel after a lesson!

Singing is an interesting practice and I have noticed how many of my musician friends have become curious about my stories. They don’t often hear about the kinds of innovative exercises that Linor does. The yoga positions on the floor, for example, who would have thought? But it helps a lot.

I recommend Linor’s classes to anyone who wants to challenge their idea of what singing is. To my performer friends as well, of course. To anyone who wants to find their voice!”
